A New Parish Church in Syracuse's Eastside
Christ Church is a new parish church in Syracuse's Eastside. Christ Church is called to glorify God by together declaring his gospel and displaying his kingdom in Syracuse and beyond.
- The Eastside is home to Syracuse University, SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry and SUNY Upstate Medical University.
- One of Syracuse's poorest neighborhoods is in the Eastside.
- The church started a weekly parish gathering in February 2014.

Rev. Jonathan Hood was born in Portland, OR and lived in several states before attending the University of Alabama in Huntsville, where he earned a Bachelor in Biology in 2004. He worked as a systems biologist for several years before moving to Charlotte, NC in 2010 to attend Reformed Theological Seminary. He earned a Master in Divinity in 2013 and was, then, called to plant a church in Syracuse.
He enjoys reading, music, coffee, Philadelphia sports, running, and golf. He and his wife Erica have been married a decade and have three young daughters, Aeryn, Claire and Emma. Erica loves the arts and is a freelance graphic designer.
